Switching over the operating
mode
To switch from the "rotating laser beam"
standard operating mode to the other
operating modes:
n Press the mode button (22):
– 1x = scan 1 (line)
– 2x = scan 2 (oscillating beam)
– 3x = point
To change the position of the beam for these
operating modes:
n Press button (21) on the device or
remote control to adjust the beam
position in a clockwise direction.
n Press button (24) on the device or
remote control to adjust the beam
position in an anti-clockwise direction.
To return to "rotating laser beam" standard
operating mode:
n Press the Shift button (16). The laser
beam rotates.
Horizontal application
n Place the power tool on a surface which
is as level as possible.
n Switch on the machine.
The power tool levels itself within the
self-levelling range (±5°) and the beam
begins to rotate.
The LED (11) is lit.
If the power tool was placed on an incline
(>5°), a warning signal is sounded and the
beam stops.

In this case:
n Place the power tool in another
(more level) location.
or
n Compensate for a non-level surface by
placing a support under the power tool.
n After finishing work, switch off the
device.

Tilt function

Usually the ALR corrects itself automatically
within the self-levelling range (±5°) if there is
a change in position. If there is an uninten-
tional change in position (e.g. adjustment of
a tripod leg), the device would correct itself
within the self-levelling range but the
previous reference height is lost.
This is prevented by the tilt function.
The device then switches off also within
the self-levelling range.
n Switch on the machine.
Wait for self-levelling process.
n Press Tilt button (14).
The tilt function is activated.
If the device is now moved from its position,
the rotation switches off and the laser beam
flashes.
If required, self-levelling can be activated by
pressing the button (15).
To switch off the tilt function, press the button
(14).
The tilt function cannot be activated at
the same time as the slope function.
Rotational laser
