Cleaning and storage

NOTICE
If the tool has been used under water, a Holmatro Certified Technician must clean the tool as
soon as possible. To make sure that the tool operates correctly, it must be cleaned in less
than 1 week.
After normal use
1. Clean the tool and any accessories before storage.
2. Dry the tool if it was used in wet conditions. Apply a thin coat of preservative oil to the external steel
parts.
3. Store the tool in a dry and well-ventilated area.
After immersion
If a Holmatro Certified Technician can not clean the tool within 1 week, do these temporary maintenance
steps that follow. The Holmatro Certified Technician must clean the tool subsequently.
1. Remove the battery pack. Flush the tool, battery pack and accessories with fresh, clean water.
2. If the tool has been used in muddy or dirty water, the covers must be removed to remove residual
dirt.

Remove the screws (A, 8x) from the upper cover.
ii
Remove the upper cover (B). Do not disconnect wiring.
iii
Remove the crews (C, 6x) from the bottom covers.
iv
Remove the bottom covers (D, 2x).
3. Flush the inner parts with fresh clean water and remove residual dirt and contamination.
4. Lubricate all exposed steel parts with a rust inhibitor and moisture repellant.
5. Let the tool, battery and accessories dry in the air at room temperature.
6. Install the covers.
7. Store the tool in a dry and well-ventilated area.
Additional steps if the tool does not respond to the control handle after immersion.
If the motor keeps running, clean the control sensors inside the control handle.
1. Refer to Fig. 13

The upper cover must be removed (A, 8x) (B). Do not disconnect wiring.
ii
Remove the crews from the control handle ring (C, 5x).
iii
Remove the control handle ring (D). Do not disconnect wiring.
iv
Open the dust cap (E).
v
Remove the lock ring (F).
vi
Remove the control handle (G).
2. Flush the control sensors (H, 2x) with fresh clean water and remove remaining dirt and
contamination.
3. Lubricate all exposed steel parts with a rust inhibitor and moisture repellant.
4. Let the tool dry in the air at room temperature.
5. Install the parts.
6. Store the tool in a dry and well-ventilated area.
