3. About this product

3.1 Intended use

The door fitting MATRIX AIR has been developed for the installation on interior doors and
may only be used for the opening of doors and access control. The supplied components
may be used only for this door fitting. The door fitting MATRIX AIR reads data from RFID
media contact-free (cards or transponder fobs according to DORMA recommendation) and
opens if authorized.
Different operating modes are possible (see user manual XS-Manager).
Requirements for the installation
Only interior fittings with a standard mount for the door handle (headless screws) are
suitable for the installation of the fitting.
Unlocking in the event of an emergency
You can still use the key to unlock door fittings with profile cylinders if a lock cylinder is
installed.
3.2 Note on the use on fire doors
The use in combination with fire doors is only permissible with the DORMA fire/smoke
protection kit for MATRIX AIR fittings.
