resistance against the flow in the pipe. In order to prevent air bubbles from forming in the suction pipe, create a
slight difference in positive inclination of the suction pipe to the electro-pump. If more than one pump is installed,
each must have its own suction pipe to guarantee the operation of a single pump per suction pipe, except for the
reserve pump (if there is one), which only works in the event of failure of the main pump. Cut-off valves must be
fitted to the inlet and outlet of the pump in order to prevent the need to empty the installation for pump
maintenance.
The pump must never be started with the cut-off valves closed, as this would increase the
temperature of the liquid and bubbles of seam would form inside the pump, with the
resulting mechanical damage. If possible, include a by-pass or discharge in the circuit
connected to a liquid overflow tank (as provided in local regulations for toxic liquids).

9 - ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

Warning: always observe the safety regulations!
Rigorously respect the electrical diagrams that appear inside the junction box and those
that appear in this manual.
System protection should be based on a differential breaker (Ifn = 30 mA). A GOOD EARTH CONNECTION MUST BE
MADE WHENEVER POSSIBLE. The earth terminal, in particular, must be connected to the yellow/green conductor of
the supply cable. An earth conductor that is longer than the phase conductors must also be used so as to prevent it
from being the first to disconnect if pulled.
Use is only permitted if the electric installation has safety protection systems in accordance with personal safety
regulations in force in the country where the product is to be installed.
9.1 Electrical connections must be carried out by an expert electrician with the necessary
requirements established by current regulations. The requisites of the electricity company must be
respected. In the case of three-phase motors with a star-triangle start, it must be ensured that the switching time
between the start and the triangle is as short as possible.
9.2 Before accessing the terminal box to make the pump work, make sure the power supply is turned off.
9.3 Check the mains voltage before making any connection. If it corresponds to that on the plate, connect the wires
to the terminal plate giving priority to the ground wire.
9.4 Make sure the ground installation is in a correct state and that a suitable connection can be
carried out.
9.5 The pumps must always be connected to an exterior switch.
9.6 Motors must be protected with adequate motors suitably calibrated in relation to the current on the plate.
10 - PLACEMENT IN SERVICE
10.1 Before starting up the pump, make sure that:
- The pump is correctly purged, and that the body of the pump is completely full of water. The reason is
that the pump should begin to work correctly without air, and that the seal device (mechanical seal)
should be totally hermetic. Dry operation causes irreparable damage to the mechanical seal and the rest
of the pump.
- All moving parts are armoured with the safety systems;
- The electrical connection has been carried out as above.
