RECOMMENDATIONS
The main way to prevent bedsores when in bed is to change the pressure points of the body on the mattress on average every three hours to limit
a too lengthy compression of the vessels opposite bone protuberances and to allow tissue irrigation. Do not tuck the bedlinen in too tightly to maintain
the efficiency of the mattress.
PRINCIPLE
The Alova mattress is a static mattress for the prevention and treatment of bedsores.
The low resilience Alova viscoelastic foam provides a soft support (VMA/PEDIA/S) or Médium (VMA/PEDIA/S).
The combination of these principles improves blood circulation and minimises the pressure on bedsore prone areas.
INSTRUCTIONS
For patients with reduced mobility and "Average to High" bedsore risk (according to the Braden scale or any other valid scale and depending on the
physician's opinion). Helps to treat stage 1 to 2 bedsores according to EPUAP.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE AND COUNTER INDICATIONS
There are no specific counter indications for the use and place of use. Given that the loss of pressure on a "passive" mattress is not possible, persons
who are thin or have lesions in the spinal region can also use this product.
The mattress is designed to be installed on a medical bed frame at the location designed to this effect. The mattress must be used with the delivered
cover. In the case of the use of a bed with side barriers, the minimum distance between the top of the mattress and the top of the barriers must be at
least 22 cm.
In the case of use of a bed with several functions, check the correct distribution of the support pressure.

The delivered removable cover is used to protect the mattress from all contamination by effluents. If the cover is deteriorated it is imperative to change
it and not to use the mattress without the cover. The cover can be washed and disinfected in a washing machine at 90°C. The cover can be disinfected
using current EC valid disinfectants (do not use corrosive products) The cover must not be ironed or tumble dried. The purpose of the cover is to limit
the risk of cross contaminations.

PACKAGING AND INSTALLATION
The mattress is delivered with its zipped removable cover. The product is ready for immediate use. Place the mattress by orienting the label sewn to the
cover at the head or in compliance with the symbols on the top surface of the cover. The sheet must not be fixed to the mattress in order not to cancel
its effects. The mattress must be installed with the viscoelastic material on the top.
The top part is marked and easily identifiable on the mattress. The cover is also marked. The heel relief part is indicated by a symbol representing feet.
(not the case for all covers)
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Avoid prolonged damp contacts with the foam.
Systematically protect the mattresses using rigorously dried delivered protection.
Prohibit all scouring, stripping products or solvents and "piercing-sharp" objects in direct contact with the cover.
REUSE
Before reusing for another person, clean and disinfect the mattress with a "detergent/disinfectant' product solution.
We recommend the replacement of the cover.

MAINTENANCE
Regularly carry out a visual inspection of the condition of the foam: the presence of a visible collapse of the ALOVA material and an uneven and
very slow return to shape of the foam are the signs of wear criteria that compromise the properties of the support in helping to prevent bedsores.
Inspect the condition of the cover yearly to check the condition of the foam, the surface aspect of the cover and the closures (zippers). In order to
check for the absence of holes, tears or problems with the zippers, examine the outer surface in natural daylight.
CONDITIONS FOR USE AND STORAGE
The pneumatic supports with telescopic cells should preferably be stored flat, away from direct light and excessive humidity.
