PPE:
The impact protectors (Stryker Rig Shoulder Protector, Stryker Rig Elbow Protector and Removable Stryker Rig Back Protector) attached to the Stryker
Rig are considered Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as defined by European Directive 89/686/EEC. The impact protectors and back protector
attached to the Stryker Rig described in this manual are considered Category II PPE and, as such, may only display the CE Marking after having
undergone an EC Type Approval and subsequent, relevant, Certification at a Notified European Body. Placement of the CE Marking on the impact
protectors and back protector attached to the Stryker Rig indicates conformity of the impact protectors and back protector with the Basic Health and
Safety Requirements of Directive 89/686/EEC.
The impact protectors and back protector described in this manual, have undergone EC Type Examination at RICOTEST s.r.l., notified body number
0498, to assure compliance with Directive 89/686/EEC. The elbow and shoulder impact protectors have additionally been examined and tested
to assure their compliance with technical Standard: EN 1621-1:1997 "Motorcyclists protective clothing against mechanical impact – Part 1:
Requirements and test methods for impact protectors". The back protector has additionally been examined and tested to assure its compliance
with technical Standard: EN 1621-2:2003 "Motorcyclists protective clothing against mechanical impact – Part 2: Motorcyclist's back protectors –
Requirements and test methods".
STRyKER RIG

SAFETy WARNINGS

USE RESTRICTIONS ANd LIMITATIONS:
Use of the Stryker Rig is strictly limited to on-road motorcycling. The impact protectors and back protector attached to the Stryker Rig are designed
to offer, limited protection, in specific circumstances, only. The Stryker Rig is designed for use under a motorcycle jacket. The addition of the
Stryker Rig to any other PPE or motorcycling apparel being worn is not intended to imply that said PPE or motorcycling apparel is also CE approved.
No PPE can offer full protection against injury. Motorcycling is inherently dangerous in nature, and use of the Stryker Rig cannot prevent injury, or
death. Icon® strongly suggests always using multiple forms of PPE, with the Stryker Rig, including an motorcycle jacket and motorcycle pants with
approved impact protection, gloves, boots, and an approved helmet, for increased personal protection, whenever engaged in on-road motorcycling.
CE MARKING SyMbOL KEy
Below is an explanation of the CE Markings on the impact protectors and back protector attached to the Stryker Rig, envisaged both by Directive
89/686/EEC and by EN 1621-2:2003, EN 1621-1:1997. These markings are located on labels attached to each protector that is attached to the
Stryker Rig.
