2 Hardware Connections
1 Use an Ethernet cable to connect the ISG50 LAN-1 port to your LAN.
2 Use another Ethernet cable(s) to connect port WAN-1 and/or port WAN-2 to an Ethernet
jack with Internet access.
Use an 8-wire Ethernet cable to run your Gigabit Ethernet at
1000 Mbps. Using a 4-wire Ethernet cable limits your
connection to 100 Mbps. Note that the connection speed also
depends on what the Ethernet device at the other end can
support.
3 ISG50-PSTN: Use telephone cables with RJ-11 connectors to connect your existing
PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) outlet to the ISG50's FXO ports.
ISG50-ISDN: Use telephone cables with RJ-48 connectors to connect basic rate ISDN
phone lines to the ISG50's BRI ports.
