Problem
Compressor motor does not start
Air compressor storage tank is unable
to sustain pressure
Air compressor is producing increased
sound levels/vibration/metallic knock
Excessive oil consumption

Possible cause
Air compressor storage tank filled
Air leaks at hose connection points
Oil level low
Bearing, piston or valve damage
Oil level too high
Crankcase Breather (14) blocked
Piston ring/cylinder worn
Solution
Depressurise tank using the release valve
Operate the air compressor at maximum pressure, switch OFF. Apply soap solution to the
connection points and observe for leaks . Tighten leaking connection points . If problem
persists, contact a qualified Silverline technician
Immediately switch OFF the air compressor and fill with approved oil
Contact a qualified Silverline technician
Keep the oil level as specified in 'Filling with motor oil'
Remove and clean using a suitable cleaning product
Contact a qualified Silverline technician
