1.1 Intended Use
MP3020 lamp has the function of lighting anatomic parts of the human body in following
fields:
The lamp is not designed to be used during surgical intervention.
The articulated arm and hinge joints of the head make it possible to position the light beam
according to user's needs.
The lamp must only be used by qualified personnel after the reading of this manual.
1.2 Installation
Verify that the power supply voltage, shown on the label, is the same as the mains voltage.
The device must be installed only by qualified personnel, competent in installation of
electrical equipment in medical rooms.
The dental light must be installed on a specific control and supply device, such as a dental
unit, or with an electrical system that complies with standard IEC 364-1 and "national
regulations for installation of electrical systems in areas for medical use".
The device must be installed with an omnipolar shut-off switch that disconnects it from the
mains and is conformant to IEC/EN 61058. It is necessary to install a green signal light to
indicate when the lamp is switched on.
The device is not suitable for installation in environments containing flammable gas or
rich in oxygen.
1.3 Maintenance and repair
Do not perform any maintenance operation on the lamp when it is connected to the power
supply or while the patient is present.
Disconnect the power chord from the mains before starting maintenance procedures.
The user is not allowed to perform maintenance operations not described in this manual.
Any operation not indicated in the manual can compromise the safety characteristics of
the device.
For the maintenance or repair of this device use only Faro's original spare parts.
Do not insert any objects or tools which could touch parts under voltage into the slots
on the lamp head.
1.4 Contra Indications
Do not address the light beam directly in the eye.
Following patients can be particularly subject to photobiological risk: children and adults
with eye diseases, people using photosensitive substances (drugs, cosmetics, etc) that can
release phototoxic substances.
These patients must not stare at the light beam and must use appropriate protection
devices and precautions.
Do not leave small components of the device in unattended or within reach of people at risk
(children) because they could be a source of danger.
The high electromagnetic energy of the electro surgery unit can affect the functioning of the
other Medical Equipment. Make reference to the instruction of the Manufacturer of such
equipment for the recommended distances that must be held from other devices.
