Installation
Kit assembling in the unit
Remove the unit cover, taking away the screws holding it.
Perform the installation procedure described below.
Reposition the unit cover and fi xing it with all the previously
removed screws.
Metal plate knockout
On the metal plate at the bottom of the unit, open the slot
corresponding to the zone that needs to be installed.
Fig. 19.1 – Slot for kit installation to the left side
Fig. 19.2 – Slot for kit installation to the right side
Install the pipe holder as shown in fi g. 20.
Mechanical assembly
Mount the zone kit as shown in fi g. 7.
Before mounting the pump on the pipes, check the water
fl ow direction directly on the pump body.
In fi g. 7 and fi g. 8, connections 1,2,3,4 are intended to be
connected to the ones with the corresponding number on
the hydronic module in fi g. 6.
Fix the pipe to the pipe holders after mounting the side
panels and fi xing them to the metal plate at the bottom of
the unit.
Valve and actuator assembling procedure
( only for Zone kit with 3 way valve )
Place the knob on the actuator and position the indicator in
the middle (fi g. 9.1).
If possible push down the knob (fi g. 9.2).
If it is not possible to push down the knob with the indicator
in the middle, take special care to position the indicator as
shown in fi g. 9.1.
Place the adaptor on the 3 way valve body so that the
bottom surface of the adaptor is touching the upper surface
of the 3 way valve ; see fi g. 10
The groove on the adaptor can be oriented in 8 diff erent
positions ; see fi g. 11
The correct groove positioning is diff erent if the valve has to
be mounted on the left side or on the right side.
If the valve has to be mounted on the left, place the groove
in position 8 (see fi g 12).
If the valve has to be mounted on the right, place the groove
in position 2 (see fi g. 13).
Place the actuator on the valve body (see fi g. 14), making
sure the knob does not rotate (if it is not pressed down) and
that the actuator matches with the upper surface of the
valve body (see fi g. 15).
If the actuator and the valve body do not match, check the
adaptor and the knob position.
The actuator angle vs the valve body is not relevant ;
however the recommended positions are shown in fi g. 8.

To fi x the actuator to the 3 way valve body, follow the
procedure shown in fi g. 16.
During the whole procedure, make sure that the actuator
always matches with the upper surface of the valve body
(see fi g. 15).
Fig. 16.1 – remove the knob
Fig. 16.2 – place the screw (fi g 3.4) and screw it reasonably
tight; during the screwing operation the valve could rotate;
this is not a problem, provided that conditions of fi g. 15 are
respected.
Fig. 16.3- place the knob, rotate it until it possible to push it
down and push it down.
Finally, mount the direction indicator (see fi g. 17)
If the actuator has to be mounted on the left, place the
indicator as in fi g. 17.1.
If the actuator has to be mounted on the right, place the
indicator as in fi g. 17.2.
The valve is opened when the knob indicator points
towards the thicker part of the direction indicator, while it is
closed when the knob indicator points towards the thinner
part of the direction indicator.
See fi g. 18
Fig. 18.1, 18.2 – Valve opened
Fi.g 18.3, 18.4 – Valve closed
When the valve is opened, the water pump receives water
from the tank and not from the bypass; when the valve is
closed, the water pump receives water from the bypass and
not from the tank.
Water connections
Connect the terminals to the zone kit as described in the
hydronic module manual.
The possible circuit schemes are also shown in the hydronic
module manual.
Pump speed selection
Please refer to the hydronic module manual.
Electrical connections
Please refer to electrical scheme of the hydronic module.
Terminal blocks for zone kits connection are identifi ed as
ZONE 1 and ZONE 2 in the terminal block.
In case there is only one zone kit, connect it to ZONE 1.
If there are two zone kits, connect one kit to ZONE 1 and the
other kit to ZONE 2.
Zone kits can be connected to ZONE 1 or ZONE 2 regardless
their position inside the unit (left or right).
The electrical scheme specifi es diff erent connections for 3W
and D zone kits.
