1. dESCRIPTION
The 16-676-01 is a video switcher and belongs to the range Access Control Design. The 16-676-01 is an electronic video distributor that enables to
connect several external units to a system. This appliance enables to display a color image of your visitor who rings at one of the external units on several
internal units. The video switcher is connected to the mains (230V) and powers the system via the cabling.
With the video switcher, you can connect up to 8 internal units to 4 external units. For a description of the complete system, please refer to the catalogue
or to www.niko.be.
2. INSTALLATION
Choice of cabling
- connection to interface 16-651: non-crossed patch cable
- connection to internal units (max. 100m)
Installation switcher
Unplug the plug before installing the appliance. The video switcher is suitable for installation in a 19"-rack, but can also be installed as a freestanding
appliance on a horizontal base thanks to the rubber legs.
- Preferably place the video switcher in the immediate vicinity of the telephone exchange to simplify wiring.
- Connect the supplied patch cable with the RJ45 connectors as in fig. 1.
- Connect the external units and/or camera modules (max. 4) to the far left RJ45 outlets.
- Connect the internal units to the far right RJ45 outlets.
- This appliance can warm up in use. Install it in a well-ventilated place. Do not place the appliance in a closed room as e.g. a closed bookcase. ALWAYS
KEEP THE VENTILATION SLITS FREE.
Connection to the telephone exchange
Unplug the plug before installing the appliance. The rear of the video switcher has openings for inserting the cable with telephone lines. Connect the analog
telephone line to the connector block in the video switcher (fig.1). The connections TIP0 and RING0,..., TIP3 and RING3 of the left printed board are connec-
tions for the telephone lines to which the interfaces (inputs SO1, SO2, SO3 and SO4) are connected.
The connections TIP1 and RING1, TIP2 and RING2, ..., TIP8 and RING8 of the right printed board are the telephone connections that correspond to outputs
BP1, BP2, ..., BP8.
Connect the video switcher to the power supply (230V). The video switcher powers the external units or external cameras ánd the internal units through
the connected cables.
Notes:
Connect the internal units that require only a speech connection (telephone) directly to the telephone exchange!

- After you have made the connections, you always have to use all screws (10 pieces) for mounting the lid. This is necessary to guarantee solidity when
mounting the appliance in a 19"-rack.
