connecting devices and deceleration devices) are in good repair and have been inspected prior to use.
Read, understand and adhere to all manufacturer's instructions for these components before using.
If you are using a self retracting lifeline (SRL), attach it to one of the four O-rings on the horizontal
lifeline using a carabiner or other compatible connector. Connect the SRL's attachment connector to your
back D-ring and proceed with care.
If you are using a shock absorbing lanyard, ensure that the attachment end of the lanyard is connected
to the back D-ring of your full body harness before ascending to the elevated work area. Connect the
anchorage end connector of your shock absorbing lanyard to one of the four O-rings on the horizontal
lifeline and proceed with care.
WARNING: Do not attach the anchorage end of your shock absorbing lanyard directly to the
horizontal lifeline rope unless the lanyard meets the requirements of ANSI Z359.1-2007, or has an
anchorage end connector with a rated gate strength of 5,000 lbs.
For deceleration devices other than self-retracting lifelines or shock absorbing lanyards, consult with a
competent person. This system was designed to be used in conjunction with deceleration devices which
limit arrest forces to 900 lbs. or less. If you have questions about whether or not your equipment is
compatible, consult with a competent person, contact your distributor or contact FallTech.
FallTech recommends using only FallTech SRL's and shock absorbing lanyards with this system. For
best performance, select a DuraTech SRL of appropriate working length, as this will limit not only freefall
distance, but deceleration distance and the arrest forces as well. If you are unsure about the compatibility
of your equipment with this system, contact your distributor or FallTech for additional guidance.
For rooftop applications utilizing our Duall-Truss Roof Anchor System, you may also tie off using any
FallTech Roofer's Kit which utilizes vertical lifelines and rope grabs featuring integral 3' shock-absorbing
lanyards. Ensure your system is rigged at all times in a manner that minimizes swing-fall and limits free-
fall to six feet (6') or less. Always ensure the rope grab is positioned in a manner that leading-edge
access is restricted. Always use a counter-weight at the trailing end of the VLL.
For commercial rooftop applications, this system is also suitable for use with a pair of FallTech 7433
Ecoanchor counter-weight anchors. This system configuration is also available in kits under part #'s
778000 (75' Ecoanchor HLL Kit) and 778100 (100' Ecoanchor HLL Kit).
3.5 – Alternative Anchorage Connectors
There are some additional FallTech Anchorage Connectors that are approved for use with thes
Temporary HLL Kit. In the case of each anchorage – it will come with it's own instruction manual. Be sure
to read, follow and understand the instructions for the anchorage connector that you choose. Once you
have installed your anchorage connectors, utilize the installation procedure from Section 3.1 of this manual
to complete the installation of your system.
Following is a list of other FallTech Anchorage Connectors that may also be used with the Checkline 4-
