Adjusting the eyepiece
The visual acuity (dioptre correction) is adjusted by turning the eyepiece ring (5) in
switched-on condition.
eyepiece ring should initially be set to the left stop (turned counter clockwise). Then,
turn the ring to the right (clockwise) until you can hear the image intensifier's noise for
the first time really sharply. For that purpose, it is best to cover the lens by your hand
fully.
It is possible to compensate for ocular defects of ±4 dioptres.
Focussing
Prior to focussing, the eyepiece should always be adjusted first. For sharp setting of any
distance, the focus ring (4) is used. The left stop (counter clockwise) is tuned to infinite
and, thus, easily adjustable.
When the lens protection cap is put on, the high depth of field requires no focussing.
Automatic time switch-off
The night vision device has an integrated time-controlled switch-off function. If the key is
left untouched for 30 minutes, the night vision device will switch off. By pressing the key
during observation just once, the time-controlled switch-off will be reset to 30 minutes.
Safety function
If light incidence is too high, the internal electronics will
switch the image intensifier off. At the same time, a red
warning LED (13) at the edge of the field of view comes
on. This automatic switch-off mode, however, is not
capable of detecting intense punctual light incidence.
The intention of the automatic switch-off mode is merely
to avoid damage due to inadvertent switch-on at
daylight when the lens protection cap is not put on. In
case of negligent handling, we reject liability for any
warranty.
Battery warning indicator
Starting at a voltage of 1.1V, an amber/orange LED (12)
at the edge of the field of view will appear. From that
time on, the capacity, depending on the type of battery
used, will suffice for a period ranging from a few
minutes to 7 hours.

Attaching the wrist strap and the cord for the lens cap
To attach the wrist strap, move the small strap through the lug (9). Then, put the end of
the carrying cord through the small strap and tighten it (see figure on the rear of the pop-
up page).
To attach the cord for the lens cap, move the smaller strap through the lug (10) first.
Then, put the other end through the small strap and tighten it. Thereafter, thread the
cord through the lens cap as shown in the lower figure on the rear pop-up page. Finally,
the cord needs to be led around the cap and tightened.
