WARNING
In case of alarm:
1) Estinguish any flames.
2) Close the cock of the gas meter or the LPG bottle.
3) Do not switch any lamps on or off and do not switch any electri-
cal appliances or devices.
4) Ventilate the room by opening doors and windows.
If the alarm stops it is necessary to find the cause that triggered it
and take suitable action.
If the alarm continues and the causing gas leak is not found or stop-
ped leave the building immediately and call the emergency service.
MONTHLY TESTS
A) By means of the TEST function
Activate the TEST function by keeping the pushbutton pressed for 3
seconds.
Be sure that the TEST function is carried out properly.
Should the TEST function include the relay testing, remember to rearm the
connected gas supply valve.
B) Using a butane gas cigarette lighter (at least once a month)
Hold in the gas release button WITHOUT LIGHTING the flame and hold
the lighter in front of the pierced part of the detector (to the left, directly
above the three LEDs), in order for the gas to go inside the detector. The
RED LED should come on and the acoustic alarm should be activated
within about 20 seconds.
Stop the gas emission and ventilate the area around the detector. The
acoustic alarm should stop and the RED LED should switch off. (if the alarm
mmoty is enabled, the RED LED continues to flash and the relays remain
excited until the button on the front is pressed.
If the activation of the alarm has led to the automatic cutoff of the gas
supply valve, remember to reset it.
Warning
In the case of malfunction do not hesitate to contact a reliable installer.
The detector must be replaced every 5 years.
After this time we cannot guarantee the correct functioning of the sen-
sor.
MAINTENANCE
The detector is preset and checked by the manufacturer so that you can
be assured the highest degree of protection. Make sure not to stop it
from working by leaning anything against it, putting furniture in front of it,
or hanging curtains in the way. The tests described above should be car-
ried out regularly and systematically.
Dust and other dirt should be removed from the detector's grill with a soft
brush at least once a month.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The illuminated YELLOW LED means that the sensor is faulty, being tested
or warming up.
If the signal continues after the initial warming period consult a reliable
installer.
FALSE ALARMS
Although the detector is barely sensitive to the other gases and vapours,
it may react to high levels of some of the following substances;
– alcohol
– Hair lacquer
– spirits
– deodorant
– stain remover
– paint thinner
– furniture polish
– excessive amounts of water steam
If one of the above substances should set off the alarm, ventilate the
area and restore the sensor to normal working conditions by airing the
grill on the front
LIMITATIONS ON THE USE OF THE GAS DETECTOR
– The detector cannot work without power which can fail, for example,in
a power cut, fire,if a fuse blows or if an automatic switch trips,or in the
case of a wrong connection.
– The detector's alarm will not be activated if the gas cannot reach the
sensory component. Any kind of hindrance of obstruction of the path of
the gas to the sensory element may prevent the alarm from being trig-
gered or delay its activation.
– A gas detector cannot detect gas inside walls, floors or in the ceiling
unless a sufficient amount of gas reaches the sensor.
– A gas detector located on the ground floor cannot detect methane gas
