sera reptil heat cable 15 W
Please read these instructions carefully and keep for future use.
Thank you for purchasing the sera reptil heat cable. Besides
heat lamps or heat mats, the sera heat cable provides another
very flexible possibility to adjust the temperature conditions
within the terrarium according to the requirements of heat loving
reptiles and amphibians.

Please be sure to read carefully!
• attention electric shock! Do not operate the sera heat
cable submerged under water!
• The length cannot be shortened.
• Do not fold and do not expose to tensile load.
• Do not make any knots in the sera heat cable.
• Do not use for warming persons or animals directly.
• Do not use for warming persons, e.g. by working it into a
blanket.
• Do not use in isolating materials!
application and application range
The sera reptil heat cable is a flexible heat cable for heating
terrariums. Due to its high flexibility, the sera heat cable is easy
to lay and allows creating a temperature gradient according to
the requirements of the terrarium inhabitants. The correct sur-
rounding temperature supports natural behavior, activity and
metabolism of the terrarium inhabitants. Depending on the way
of laying it is possible to achieve a large-area or a more punctual
heating of the bottom and of decoration such as tree trunks or
caves. The heat cable can be laid easily and unobtrusively. The
silicone coating protects it against splash water and claws.

It is easiest to lay the sera reptil heat cable in an empty, clean
terrarium (2.1). When laying it, make sure the resulting loops have
a diameter of at least 4 cm (1.6 in.). Do not fold! Attach the heat
cable to the terrarium bottom using suitable adhesive tape.
Plug in the mains plug after laying the heat cable and check
whether the cable heats up to its end evenly. If the cable does
not heat up to its end, see maintenance section.
Then cover the heat cable with the bottom substrate (2.2). Do
not place any sharp edged items directly on the heat cable.
Conduct a test of approx. 5 hours checking whether the result-
ing temperature conditions meet the desired values before put-
ting the animals in the terrarium.
Cleaning
Carefully pull the heat cable through a moist cloth for cleaning.
Maintenance
The heat cable cannot be maintained nor repaired. Put it out of
operation immediately in case the insulation is damaged. If the
heat cable does not become warm until its end, there is a break
or a short circuit within this cable. Put it out of operation imme-
diately also in this case.

Warning
1. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capaci-
ties, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
3. The unit must be put out of operation in case the mains cable
is damaged.
Disposal of the unit:
Waste electrical and electronic equipment (Weee) must not
get into domestic waste!
If ever the unit cannot be used anymore, the consumer is legal-
ly obliged to hand in waste electrical and electronic equip-
ment (Weee) separately from domestic waste, e.g. at a col-
lection point of his community/his district. This ensures that
waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is expertly
processed and that negative effects to the environment are
avoided.

When following the directions for use, the sera reptil heat
cable will perform reliably. We are liable for the freedom from
faults of our products for 2 years beginning with the purchase
date.
We are liable for complete flawlessness at delivery. Should usual
wear and tear occur by use as intended by us, this is not con-
sidered a defect. Warranty claims are also excluded in this case.
Legal claims are of course not reduced or limited by this war-
ranty.
recommendation:
In every case of a defect, please first consult the specialized re-
tailer where you purchased the unit. He will be able to judge
whether it is actually a warranty case. In case of sending the
unit to us we will unnecessarily have to charge you for occurring
costs.
Any liability because of contract breach is limited to intent or
gross negligence. sera will be liable in case of slight negligence
only in case of injuries to life, body and health, in case of essen-
tial contractual obligations and with binding liability according
to the product liability code. In that case, the extent of liability
is limited to the replacement of contractually typically foresee-
able damages.
