When connected with the 225CWS Wireless Network Manager and other Wattstopper wireless devices, one or more NWTL-111s
automatically creates a self-healing tree network. When powered up, the NWTL-111 first seeks the 225CWS (the host). If it finds a
225CWS with a signal strength of at least 70 on the Link Quality Indicator (LQI), it connects with that device. If the signal is less than
70, it will seek another device (for example, another NWTL-111) with the strongest signal, and communication will pass through that
device to the 225CWS. When linked through one or more devices to the 225CWS, the devices connecting directly to the 225CWS
are considered "parents" and the devices connecting to the parent devices are considered "children". Any devices that connect to the
children are considered "grandchildren".
NOTE: As the signal travels from device to device to device, some latency will occur. To prevent excessive latency, "deep" networks,
with many devices linking to each other, are not recommended. To prevent this, additional hosts (225CWS) can be added to the
implementation.
If at any time a connecting device's signal strength drops sufficiently to disconnect, or if the power is cycled, the NWTL-111 will
automatically seek out another device and reconnect.
For situations in which you are using more than one 225CWS:
While the connection to the host or other device is automated, and can't be selected manually on the NWTL-111, it is possible to
configure the specific host to which the NWTL-111 will connect by using an Internet web application to set the PANID (Personal Area
Network ID) so that the ID matches on both the NWTL-111 and the 225CWS. (By default, both are set to 0.)
