USING FOR THE FIRST TIME.
Never leave your pyrogaphy machine plugged if
unattended.
Plug the transformer into a plug socket (230v): the light
should turn green. Take the pyrography machine by the
handle, like a pen, and with the button positioned under
your index nger. Press the button: the light will change
to red and ventilation will start, indicating that the point
is heating up. Wait four to ve seconds until the tip is very
hot.

HOW TO ENGRAVE ?
The universal point enables you achieve a range of
results.
• Broad lines: Tilt your pyrography machine and move the
point to the side.
• Fine lines, curves and text: Place the bevelled edge of
the point on the engraving surface. To create smooth, ne
lines and curves press lightly. For this type of engraving,
move your wrist or material very gently. Don't press too
hard but go over the line several times if necessary.

IDEAS AND CREATIONS
Non-suitable materials: All types of chipboard, varnished
or painted wood and plastic materials.
Your pyrography machine must only be used to engrave
natural wood, leather, cork or cardboard:
• Wood: all types of whitewood and softwood are easy to
engrave.
• Cork: very soft material, very easy to work with.
• Leather: the most noble material, to be used once your
have mastered engraving with other materials.
How to reproduce a design ?
Choose your material before plugging in your pyrography
machine. Copy the design onto your material using a black
pencil. You can also reproduce a design using tracing or
carbon paper. Plug your pyrography machine in only when
you have decided on your design and do not forget to
remove any paper materials.
Practice using your pyrography machine on pieces of
wood or cork. For straight, clear lines, move the point
smoothly without interrupting the motion and without
releasing the button. You'll soon nd that it's easier to
engrave when tilting the pyrography machine in the
direction of the line you are engraving. When you release
the button the light will go red and ventilation will speed
up to cool the point (around 30 seconds). When the point
is cold, the light will change back to green. When storing
your pyrography machine on your work surface when not
in use, place the side to the right of the LED down on the
table.
• Dots: Hold your pyrography machine straight - perpendicular
to the engraving surface and press the point down. For a
clean mark, only touch the wood lightly.
It is pointless pressing too hard as you risk
bending or breaking the machine.
3D objects:
Once you have mastered using your pyrography machine
on at materials you can try engraving 3D objects. The
hand you use to hold the material must always be as far
from the point as possible (see illustration at the bottom
of the page). You can use a piece of wood to hold the
object to reduce any risk of harm (see illustration at the
bottom of the page).
Designs and ideas:
Here are some additional objects you can engrave that
are not included in the box, but that you can easily nd
on sale. You can also colour light wood using felt-tips, ink,
watercolours or acrylic paint.
