3.4 Danger of burns

The burn hazard exists when working on a hot engine
components as if touching the exhaust manifold, turbocharger, the
Lambda probe, etc.. These components can reach temperatures
of several hundred degrees Celsius.
Depending on the measurement of the exhaust gas sampling
probe also to the analyzer exhaust gas may become extremely
hot.
Security measures:
• Use protective equipment, eg. gloves.
• Allow the engine to cool (the same applies to auxiliary heaters).
• Do not dispose of the wiring on the hot parts or in their vicinity.
• Do not leave the engine running longer than the time needed for testing /
tuning.
3.5 Risk of fire, explosion hazard
The work on the fuel system/carburetor carry a risk of fire and
explosion due to fuel and its vapor.
Security measures:
• Turn off the ignition.
• Let the engine cool.
• No open flames or sources of ignition.
• Do not smoke.
• Collect the spilled fuel.
• In confined space, ensure adequate ventilation and aspiration.
3.6 Danger of suffocation
Exhaust gases of automobiles containing carbon monoxide (CO),
an odorless and colorless gas. After inhalation, carbon monoxide
leads to oxygen deficiency in the body.
You must take special care when working on wells work, since
some parts of the exhaust are more
heavier than air, depositing on the bottom of the wells. Also
caution with vehicles with LPG systems.
Security measures:
• Always ensure good ventilation and aspiration (especially in wells work).
• In enclosed spaces, plug and connect the suction device.
