Installation and setting up
Installation
CAUTION Risk of crushing due to the heavy aquarium!
A filled aquarium could fall down during transport and cause injuries.
•
•
The aquarium must always be emptied beforehand and transported by two people.
Please proceed as follows:
A
1. After unpacking the aquarium, open the hood and take out all the accessories.
Opening: First open the front lid in the aquarium hood. Then lift up the aquarium hood in
–
the centre.
Closing: In the reverse order. Press down the aquarium hood.
–
2. Dust and dirt should be removed from the aquarium with a clean cloth and water.
Only use cleaning agents that are specifically recommended for aquariums.
–
3. To make sure that the aquarium still meets our high quality standards and has not devel-
oped a leak
during transport, we recommend filling it with water and allowing it to stand for 24 hours.
–
Maximum filling level: The maximum water level may not exceed 1 cm below the top edge
–
of the aquarium.
4. Set up the aquarium in the desired location.
The aquarium must be placed on a level, stable, water-resistant surface that can take the
–
weight of the aquarium and the water it will contain.
Ensure that properly earthed sockets are provided for connecting the electrical appliances.
–
The enclosed Tetra brochure gives you a few ideas of where you might place and set up
–
your aquarium.
Tetra also offers an excellent stand specifically for the aquarium.
–
Setting up
Information and advice on setting up the aquarium are given on the packaging and in the en-
closed brochure.
Please proceed as follows:
B, C, D, E
1. Install the additional appliances (filter, heater, air pump) in accordance with the enclosed
operating instructions.
Tetra recommends the use of an air pump for aeration (e.g. Tetra APS 150). The 130 l
–
Aquarium Kit already includes an air pump; please follow its user instructions for installa-
tion.
2. Feed the power cables of the electrical appliances through the opening of the tail flap of the
left or right access doors and into the cable duct.
For larger plugs it is necessary to remove one of the rear access doors. The doors are
–
designed so that the outside pivot can release the door when it is at a 90 degree angle.
Guide the power cables through the cable duct and insert the power plugs into a wall
–
socket. Replace the door by first placing it on the inside pivot and then, while holding the
door at 90 degrees, slip the door onto the outside pivot.
In case an external filter is to be used, the two outer rear flaps have predetermined break-
–
ing points and can be broken off by hand or using pliers to allow the filter hoses to be in-
serted into the aquarium.
