9) Check belt for wear; renew it if damaged or worn (refer to the
vehicle use and maintenance manual).
10) Refit the belt. Fit the Variotop assembly previously assembled.
11) Fit the original spacer bush.
12) Tighten the nut (tightening torque of 82 Nm) after greasing the
thread and the primary pulley nut seat.
IMPORTANT: comply with the indicated tightening torque since a
lower torque could make the nut come loose resulting in serious
crankshaft damage.
Note: the filter on transmission cover must be cleaned to ensure
efficient converter cooling; it is hence recommended to clean it
or replace it if necessary.

Weights:
In order to obtain top performance from your Variotop, it is indispensable
that you shift gear at an rpm value close to maximum rpm (redline).
To decrease the shift rpm you simply need to change the centrifugal
weights with heavier ones. While installing lighter weights results in
an increase of shift rpm.
