CALCULATING THE RISE
To begin with, it should be remembered that the rises are subject to 5 mm increases. Therefore, two types of rise
may very often be the case for each staircase configuration.
Moreover, in general, they may vary from 170 mm minimum to 235 mm maximum. Therefore the calculated value
should not exceed such limits or should be rounded off to the closest value that can be divided by 5.
The first rise amounts always to 205 mm.

Calculation example:

How to determine the rise in six simple steps.
The measure of the distance from the bottom to the top floor determines the value of the "H" distance at 3000
mm.
1° 3000 - 205 (measure of the first rise) = 2795
2795
number of rises which are
meant to be implemented (ex.14)
minus one ( the initial rise)
3° 199.64
Round up to the next figure that can be divided by 5, i.e. 200 mm
4° 200 x 14
=
5° 2800 - 2795 =
6° Therefore, a staircase will be installed with: 1 rise measuring 205 mm (the first)

= 199.64
Check that the result does not exceed the limits reported above 170-235
2800 mm
5
which divided by 5 = 1 (number of different rises)
