• Ensure that the power tool used remains dry. If the
device comes into direct contact with water, stop work-
ing and leave it to dry.
• Before starting work, check the work area for concealed
electric cables, gas and water pipes, e.g. with a metal
detector.
• Do not use the HWT set in an environment in which
there is a risk of fire or explosion.
• Remove the old drill core before drilling a new bore.

6. Start-up and operation

6.1 Assembly (see Fig. 2)
1. Insert the water supply hose (15) into the connection
for the water supply hose (11) and tighten the cap nut
(14).
2. Insert the other end of the water supply hose (15) into
the connection for the cylinder (17) and tighten the
associated cap nut (14).
6.2 Attachment to the wall (see Fig. 3)
1. Mark the place where the bore is to be drilled with a
large cross.
2. Using the positioning aid (9), place the hole starting
aid (3) on the cross.
3. Press the suction holder (4) onto the wall and secure
it with the clamping lever (5).
4. If required, finely adjust the arm (6) by opening and
closing the locking screw (7).
5. Turn the rotating ring (8) until the water discharge
hose (10) is pointing down.
6.3 Selecting drill bit and device (see Fig. 4)
1. Select a drill bit (1) with the required diameter.
2. Select an insert (12) which corresponds to the diam-
eter of the drill bit and insert it into the rotating ring
(8).
3. Use a Hilti cordless screwdriver. Secure the drill bit
(1) in the chuck of the cordless screwdriver.
4. Set the correct speed on the cordless screwdriver
(recommended speed 1500 to 2200 1/min).
6.4 Filling the pressure water cylinder (see Fig. 5)
1. Unscrew the head on the pressure water cylinder (21).
Before unscrewing the head, ensure that the pressure
water cylinder (16) is depressurized.
2. Fill the water tank (22) with clear water (max. 0.9 l).
3. Place the head (21) on the water tank (22) and screw
it tight.
6.5 Building up pressure (see Fig. 6)
1. Close the hose clamp (13).
2. Actuate the pump piston (18) approx. 8 to 12 times
to build up pressure.

• Dispose of the drilling mud properly (according to
national laws).
6.6 Drilling (see Fig. 7)
1. Release the water supply by pressing the water release
switch (20) and fix it with the associated lock (19).
2. Open the hose clamp (13) to release the water flow.
3. Start drilling at an adequately high contact pressure.
Too low contact pressure will reduce the service life
of the drill bit.
4. Stop drilling when you have drilled through the tile.
6.7 After drilling through the tile (see Fig. 8)
1. Close the hose clamp (13) to stop the water flow.
2. The drill core automatically falls out of the elongated
hole (2) of the drill bit (1). If not, use an implement to
press the core into the drill bit.
3. Remove the hole starting aid (3) by opening the clamp-
ing lever (5).
4. Continue drilling with a drilling tool which is suitable
for the surface material.
