Specifications:
Use with Hard Service cord #10/3 AWG to #6/3 AWG.; JUNIOR Hard Service cord #10/3 AWG,; SRDT #10/3AWG., #10/1 & #8/2 AWG., #8/1 & #6/2 AWG;
0.520-1.050 in. (1.42-2.66 cm) in diameter with BLACK, WHITE and GREEN insulated copper wires only.
To Install:
1. Open cover and remove cord clamp and blades (refer to Figure 1).
2. Choose wire gauge:
For 30 AMP applications use #10 to #6 AWG
For 50 AMP applications use #8 to #6 AWG
2. Select blades corresponding to correct current rating.
3. Strip wire conductors per diagram.
4. Twist conductors to eliminate loose strands.
5. Insert ONLY the stripped ends of the conductors inside the terminal clamps as follows: BLACK (Hot) wire to BRASS clamp, WHITE (Neutral) wire to
SILVER clamp, and GREEN or BARE (Ground) wire to GREEN clamp. Tighten all screws firmly (refer to Figure 2).
NOTE: When tightening terminal screw clamps over bare wire ends, keep strands of each conductor flush with terminal within 0.0393 in. (1 mm). Then
insert blades into plug face in positions shown below.
NOTE: Terminal clamps accept up to #6 AWG wire.
6. Replace selected blades in proper slots (make note position of terminal screws) and replace cord clamp, making sure that it is holding cable insulation
securely (refer to Figure 3).
7. Secure cord clamp (refer to Figure 4). Replace cover and secure tightly with four (4) screws supplied.
8. Restore power at circuit breaker or fuse. INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.
