EAR PROTECTORS
A170436 are hearing protectors with adjustable cups (ABS) and exchangeable
cushions (PU), foam inserts and a headband made from plastic (POM).
CERTIFICATION
These ear protectors meet the requirement of EN352-1:2002 and Directive UE
89/686/CEE.

ADJUSTMENT
• Hearing protectors are designed to be worn on the head.
• Please take the hearing protector on both cups, widen it a little and slip it over
the ears.
• Cups should cover both ears. Adjust cups by sliding them up or down. Make sure
that the cushions are sitting tight around the ears.
• Headband should rest on the upper head.
• The A170436 ear muff style only have Large and Medium size.
• These ear-muffs are of medium size range and large size range.
• Ear muffs complying with EN 352-1 are of « medium size range » or « small
size range » or « large size range ». « Medium size range » ear muffs will fit
the majority of wearers. « Small size range » or « large size range » ear-muffs
are designed to fit wearers for whom « medium size range» ear-muffs are not
suitable.
• Sweat absorbing pads on the cushions can interfere the protection rate of the
hearing protector by causing leaks.
• The ear-muffs are worn at all times in noisy surroundings.
• This product may be adversely affected by certain chemical substances. Further
information should be sought from the manufacturer".
• The fitting of hygiene covers to the cushions may affect the acoustic performance
of the ear-muffs.
• If the ear-muffs are not worn at all times in noisy surroundings, the protection
afforded by the ear-muffs will be severely impaired.

The hearing protector can be damaged by aggressive cleaning fluids. Don't use
strong chemicals for cleaning. The hearing protector should be cleaned with warm
soap water. Don't use abrasive brushes or other abrasive cleaning material that
could damage the cushions. Don't dip the hearing protector into water.
MAINTENANCE
Frequently used hearing protectors should be checked upon cracks on a regular
basis. Exchange the cushions if necessary or latest after 6 months as well as the
foam inserts for hygienic reasons.
To change the cushion with back plate please grip into the ear opening of the
hearing protector and pull the back plate firmly off the cup. Replace the back plate
including ear cushion and holding ring (all preassembled) and press it firmly back
in place. Avoid overbending the headband while doing this as the tension is an
important part of the hearing protectors performance.
Recommendation that the wearer should ensure that :
• The ear-muffs are fitted, adjusted and maintained in accordance with the manu-
facturer's instructions.
• The ear-muffs are regularly inspected for serviceability.
If the recommendations given above are not adhered to, the protection afforded by
the ear-muffs will be severely impaired.
When not in use the hearing protector should be stored in a dry and warm room.
