that the equipment is installed and operated in accordance with the regulations applicable to the country of
operation and obtain any necessary licenses or permits.
Antennas for connectorized units
PTP 670 Connectorised ODUs are designed to connect to a dual polarized antenna, using vertical and horizontal
polarization. The radios have been tested for EU regulatory compliance using the antenna types listed below.
The maximum gain of each antenna type is shown. Antennas of equivalent gain or lower and of the same
antenna type may be used. Do not use an antenna with higher gain. To reduce potential radio interference to
other users, the antenna type and its gain must be so chosen that the equivalent isotropic radiated power (EIRP)
is not more than that necessary for successful communication.

Recommended parabolic dish antennas
The following parabolic dish antennas are suitable for use with PTP 670 Connectorized ODUs, subject to the
maximum antenna gain shown above.

Configuration of the ODU
Please observe the following important instructions during installation. This will set the equipment in compliance
with national regulatory regulations.
•
Ensure that the ODU has the latest firmware version installed. The firmware is available from the Cambium
Support Centre web site, see link below.
•
During equipment set-up, verify that the ODU is the EU regional variant. Use the Cambium Support Center
to generate a country-specific License Key for the country where the product is being operated. Install the
License Key in the ODU. The License Key will unlock additional regulatory bands that are allowed in the
country of operation.
•
For connectorized units, enter the antenna gain and cable loss into the Antenna Gain and Cable Loss
attributes on the System Configuration page of the web-based interface.
