1. Remove tow hook bracket from end of frame, if present. See tow hook Illustration.
2. Remove the three 12mm fasteners from the right rear vehicle frame and two 12mm fasteners from thee left rear vehicle frame. Some
vehicles will have a reinforcement strap at the end of the frame. Remove the frame attachment hardware and save.
3. Position hitch assembly up against bottom of vehicle frame and align holes in hitch brackets with weld nuts in vehicle frame.
The first hole in frame is slightly hidden under bumper skin. See illustrations below.
4. If vehicle does not have the reinforcement straps, place a spacer plate #5 between hitch frame bracket and vehicle frame at rear
attachment points on each side of vehicle. Use fasteners provided with hitch at rear frame attachment points. On vehicles with
reinforcement straps attach hitch assembly to frame with existing bolts previously removed. The reinforcement straps will go between
the hitch frame brackets and the vehicle frame.
5. Tighten all 12mm bolts to 75 ft. lbs. torque. Failure to tighten bolts as described may result in fastener loss or failure.
