4. Maintenance and Storage
• After work ends, clean the lanyard, dry it and store in a dry, well-ventilated dark room.
• While being transported the lanyard must be kept in a suitable transport container (e.g. equipment
bag or equipment box.
• Avoid contact with oils or greases. If unavoidable, clean as soon as possible with fine detergent
and ample water (40°C). Always dry naturally, never near fire or other heat sources.
• For questions about disinfecting the belt shock absorber, please contact the manufacturer.
Attention: Strictly follow the cleaning rules!!
5. Materials Information
The lanyard is made of the following materials.
Rope made of polyamide
Shock absorber made of aluminum
Karabiner hook made of aluminum or steel
6. Operational Lifetime
Operational lifetime depends on the particular conditions of use. According to experiences today, one
can assume an operational lifetime of 4 to 6 years for the lanyard under normal operating conditions.
The build year of the lanyard is given on the shrinking tube.
7. Inspection
• Prior to start of work, inspect the belt shock absorber and karabiner hook for wear or damages.
Check the function of the karabiner hook. Check label for legibility.
• Should there be any doubts about the safety of the systems or its components, they must be
replaced immediately. This must be done by the manufacturer or a trained person.
• The inspection prior to use can be omitted for certain equipment parts intended for emergencies if
they were packed or sealed by a trained person.
• As needed, but at least one a year, have an inspection done by the manufacturer or a trained
person.
Attention: Damaged lanyards may not be used.
• Systems subjected to fall must be taken out of services and sent back to the manufacturer or an
authorised repair show for maintenance and a new inspection.
Attention:
No modifications or additions may be made to the product without the prior
written consent of the manufacturer.
Repairs may only be carried out by the manufacturer or a repair shop authorised
by the manufacturer in compliance with the procedures specified by the
manufacturer.
A set of use instructions/inspection log book is delivered with every lanyard. This must be kept with
the equipment.
You absolutely must follow the use instructions for the products that are used with the belt shock
absorber as well as the specifically applicable accident protection regulations.
