For the following steps, it is best to place the SECUNORM 590 on a
flat surface as shown above.

Before cleaning or replacing the
blue dirt control device, first
remove the blade (see the
chapter on changing the blade,
2 to 5).

Now place the knife upright so
the opened blade cover is point-
ing upwards.

Then take hold of the grooves
on both sides of the dirt control
device and initially release in a
forwards direction by hand ( a ) .
Then pull it out by shaking it
gently ( b ) .
