USE
1. Place your food slicer on a stable and flat surface.
2. Adjust the slice thickness as desired by turning the handle to the
appropriate position.
3. Place the food on the carriage. For the best performance, move the
carriage backwards and forwards smoothly and do not press the meat
too hard against the blade. The duration of your forwards/cutting stroke
should be 2-3 seconds. The duration of your backwards stroke should
be about as long as the duration of your forwards/cutting stroke, at
least three seconds or longer.
4. When using the slicer, always hold the food against the sliding carriage.
Use the food pusher to hold the food against the blade. To ensure
perfect slicing, do not press the food against the blade too firmly.
5. The slicer incorporates a "safety" feature. The On/Off button is on
the top; turn the slicer on by pressing the button. But the button can
only be pressed when the safety feature, on the side of the slicer with
a padlock icon, is pressed in. With the slicer in front of you, the safety
feature can be pressed with one finger, and the On/Off button on the
top can be pressed with your thumb.
6. This food slicer has been designed to operate for short periods of time
(max. 5 min.).
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
• Always unplug the device and turn the slice thickness adjustment knob
to the zero position before cleaning. NEVER IMMERSE THE UNIT IN
WATER, as this would damage the electrical components.
• Wipe the inside and outside of the appliance with paper towel or damp
cloth. The appliance should not be washed in a dishwasher.
• Dry all parts well before putting away for storage.
After cleaning, it is advised to apply some petroleum jelly (such as
Vaseline) to the back of the blade, in a circle where it contacts the circular
support ridge. See illustration on next page. For removing the blade, twist
clockwise and carefully lift and remove blade.
