A. General information:
1. Proper assembly of panel and plugs provides a locking system assuring
ground is connected first, neutral second, and phase connectors last. The
disconnect sequence is reversed with the ground breaking last.
2. In order to correctly operate the locking system, always push the plug
firmly towards the panel when connecting or disconnecting the panel.
B. Electrical Safeguards:
1. Assembly should be performed by knowledgeable electrical personnel.
2. ASSEMBLY AND USE MUST FOLLOW NATIONAL AND
LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODES.
3. DO NOT exceed electrical ratings of this system.
4. DO NOT connect or disconnect this system under load.
5. Cable size and breakers or fuses must be sized accordingly.
C. Panel Installation:
1. 19" EIA rack mount 7" x 19" x 3/16" thick aluminum coated with epoxy paint.
2. Panel can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
3. Receptacles have ½-13 threaded studs for lug or bus connections. Use brass
hex jam nuts and torque to 40 ft. lbs. Nuts can be purchased from CAM-LOK
using CAM-LOK part number 200120-5.
D. Contact Assembly:
1. Cut off cable end of insulator to match
cable size and push cable through
insulator from the cable end. Coat cable
jacket and inside walls of insulators at both
ends with cable pulling compound to make
assembly easier.
2. (Optional) A short piece of bare wire is
furnished. It can provide an excellent strain relief to prevent cable jackets from
pulling away from connectors: Strip cable jacket 1-5/8". At a point 3/8" to ½"
from end of cable jacket, twist retainer wire tightly around jacket with pliers.
Bend the ends down against conductor and squeeze twisted portion tightly
against cable jacket so that it will clear 1 inch inside diameter of insulator lock
