The sterile Jet-Ventilation Catheter allows a
safe and atraumatic transtracheal access for
oxygenation/ventilation with a manual jet
(Manujet III) or an automatic High Frequency
Jet Ventilator (HFJV).
Further indications are not known.

the product.
Before use, the products must be

inspected visually for damages (cracks,
breakage, etc.), according to chapter
"Visual check".
The user must ensure that expiration

reduce the risk of barotrauma.
The Jet-Ventilation Catheter is made of

teflon and not flammable by itself. If
used with laser avoid direct contact of
the laser beam with the catheter to pre-
vent damage of the catheter.

Ventilation values cannot be com-

pared with the ventilation via a cuffed
endotracheal tube due to the loss of air
through the upper airway.
The product is for single use and must

not be reprocessed. Reprocessing influ-
ences the function of the product. Any
reuse involves the potential risk for cross
contamination.
The product is sterile (ethylene oxide).

packaging is damaged or the shelf life
has elapsed.

Hyperextend the head of the patient.

It might be helpful to place a pillow
under the patient's neck.
Remove the Jet-Ventilation Catheter
from the packaging.
For routine clinical use, we recommend
to puncture and insert the catheter only
under fibreoptic control.
A syringe, attached to the catheter,
serves as a handle and for identifi-
cation for correct positioning of the
catheter.
Locate the cricothyroid membrane by
palpation of the depression between
the thyroid and cricoid cartilage. Sta-
bilize this point with index finger and
thumb for puncture.
