8.3 Result of weighting
Cool the specimen after cutting. Place the specimens on the balance (Require an
Analytical Balance with the 0.001g precision) and weight them respectively.
Calculate the result according to the formula below:

MFR: Melt flow rate, unit: g/min
W: Average weight of specimens
t: Time interval of incising, unit: s
Take two decimal points after getting the test result.
Note! Each specimen should be tested horizontally for two times and calculate the
MFR value. If the offset is beyond 10% between the two MFR values, find out the
reason.
8.4 Calculation of Melt Flow Density
8.4.1 Choose MVR method under automatic mode and press the button 'parameter' and
lighten the indicator of volume, input the value of L: 1~30mm (Optional according to the
melt index. Generally, if MFR<1, input 5mm; if 1<MFR<5, input 10mm; if MFR>5, input
30mm).
8.4.2 Weight the specimen in 9.4.1 and record the weight, m. After inputting the
parameters, place the specimen and test it. Finally, we have the MVR. So that Melt Flow
Density is defined as:
