Mounting Instructions
Arrange the 10-pole connector of the UP coupler such
that the desired UP watchdog mounting position can
be realized (see Fig. 1).
The physical address of the UP watchdog is determined
via the UP coupler. Preferably, this physical address
should be entered before the unit is mounted. Subse-
quent modifications can be made but the unit has to
be dismantled for this purpose (see "Mounting /
Dismantling")
For mounting observe the following:
• The UP watchdog must be fixed to a rigid wall since
every movement of the unit has the same effect as
a heat source detected in the area monitored.
• The optimum function of the UP watchdog is ensured
if the unit is arranged laterally to the direction of
traffic (tangential approach).
• Since infrared rays do not penetrate solid objects,
the UP watchdog must have "free vision".
• Provide a minimum clearance of 2 m between sensor
and light sources directly radiating onto the unit.
