INPUT PANELS
Megoliath™
The megoliath offers the ultimate in both power handling and
application flexibility! essentially, the megoliath™ is two inde-
pendent 8Ω, 4x10 enclosures that can be run separately from
two different sources (stereo) or as one mono 4Ω, 8x10 enclo-
sure by connecting the top and bottom enclosures from {G} to
{I} using the Speakon® speaker cable provided.
Goliath enclosures offer both 1/4" phone jacks and Speakon®
jacks to provide flexibility in making your speaker connec-
tions. Use the Speakon® jacks whenever possible to take
advantage of their superior power transfer efficiency and
secure locking connectors. All jacks are wired in parallel.
Goliath™ Series IV
A . ENCLOSURE "A"—Input/control panel for the top half of
the megoliath cabinet (4x10 and tweeter).
B . ENCLOSURE "B"—Input panel for the bottom half of the
megoliath cabinet (4x10).
C . TwEETER ATTENUATOR CONTROL—Use this knob to
adjust the tweeter volume level anywhere from infinite
"∞" resistance (no tweeter), to zero resistance (maximum
tweeter) for enclosure "A". A normal setting for this
control is straight up (approximately –4dB attenuation).
NOTe: Any amplifier clipping (distortion) that occurs will
always be accentuated by the tweeter. Turn down the
master volume on your amplifier to reduce clipping.
An internal (passive) crossover divides the signal, sending
frequencies above 5kHz to the tweeter and frequencies
below 5kHz to the drivers.
D . 1/4" PHONE INPUT—Input jack for enclosure "A."
E . 1/4" PHONE OUTPUT—Output jack for enclosure "A"
when linking multiple enclosures together.
F . SPEAKON INPUT—Input jack for enclosure "A."
G . SPEAKON OUTPUT—Output jack for enclosure "A" when
linking multiple enclosures together. connect to Input
{I} on enclosure "B" when operating the megoliath as a
single 8x10 mono cabinet.
H . 1/4" PHONE INPUT—Input jack for enclosure "B."
I . SPEAKON INPUT—Input jack for enclosure "B."
