Item M7TIC/IO is an electronic device intended for use in monitoring systems, which allows a remote computer to control its inputs and outputs via an
RS485 serial line. The protocol adopted is MODBUS (on RS485) in the RTU and ASCII version.
Peripherals
1÷24
24 inputs dedicated to detecting the change of state
of signals from clean contacts with positive common
(generic alarms).
C
common for the inputs
1÷6
6 n.o. outputs with relay with 230V, 2A contacts
with two commons (one for 4 relays and one for 2 relays)
C
common for the outputs
analogue inputs with range in current 4-20mA
with positive reference voltage of 24Vcc

A1, A2, A3 3 configurators for the address.
B
1 configurator for the speed.
M
1 configurator for the mode.
25-pole connector on the side for the connection
of optional expansion modules (expansion bus).
LED indications
- TX LED ON: Transmission in progress
- RX LED ON: Receiving in progress
- TX LED flashing and RX ON: initialisation.
Configuration
Using configurators an address is assigned to the device.
3 positions are to be configured to assign the address (for the ModBUS
protocol the address is from 1 to 247).
The remaining positions define the device mode of operation; in detail:
A1, A2, A3 – Modbus Address.
The Modbus address is defined by configuring the first three positions.
Each of these can be worth "no configurator" = 0, 1÷9.
With the MODBUS protocol the address value (in decimal)
is obtained as follows:
A1x100 + A2x10 + A3
Example:
A1=2, A2=3, A3= "no configurator":
the address value is 230.
Technical features
Dimensions: 6 DIN modules
Operating temperature: -10 ÷ 55 °C.
*
RT= Characteristic impedance of the cable
(e.g. 120Ω for Belden cable 9841 - 9842).
The end resistances are only inserted on the
first and last RS-485 node in the terminals
where the cable is connected.
M – Modbus Transmission mode.
The transmission mode is defined as follows:
- 1
- "other values"
- "no configurator"
B – Modbus Transmission Speed.
The transmission speed is defined as follows:
- 1
- 2
- 3
- 4
- 5
- 6
- "other values"
- "no configurator"
- configurator F
