• Complex devices, such as those with tubes,
hinges, retractable features, matted surfaces, and
textured surface finishes, require special attention
during cleaning.
• Manual pre-cleaning of such device features is
required before automated cleaning processing.
INSTRUMENT CLEANING
The instruments may be cleaned either manually
or automatically. Reusable Instruments must be
disassembled for cleaning as described in the
procedures that follow. For either method:
• Follow the instructions and warnings issued by the
suppliers of any cleaning and equipment used.
• Do not exceed 140° C (284° F) during reprocessing
steps.
• The RIGIDFIX CURVE Instrument requires
disassembly and manual pre-cleaning before
automated cleaning processing.
• Avoid exposure to hypochlorite solutions, as these
will promote corrosion.
LIMITATIONS OF REPROCESSING
• Repeated processing has minimal effects on
instrument life and function.
• End of useful life is generally determined by wear or
damage in surgical use.
• Carefully inspect instruments between uses to verify
proper functioning.
CARE AT THE POINT OF USE
• Clean instruments as soon as possible after use.
If cleaning must be delayed, immerse instruments
in a compatible detergent solution, spray with an
instrument pre-soak solution, or cover instruments
