Use the self-diagnosis switch (SW1) and the LD1 (LED shown) on the outdoor unit's "Multi-unit control board" to perform a self-diagnosis of the indoor
and outdoor unit.
During normal operations, the operation condition of the outdoor unit controller is displayed on LD1
of the outdoor unit. (SW1 all OFF)

9.3. Coping with remote controller trouble

For MA remote controller systems
Symptoms or inspection code
The operation is shown on the display
but some of the indoor units will not
operate.
The remote controller goes off soon
even if indoor unit operates.
Power on indicator (
) on remote
controller not on. (No power supplied
to MA remote controller.)
The "HO" on the remote controller
goes out or if the "HO" repeats regu-
larly (normally, the "HO" is displayed
for a maximum of 3 minutes after the
outdoor unit has been turned on).
The power on display (
) is displayed
on the remote controller but it does not
operate.

• Power for the indoor unit is not turned on.
• Fuse burnt out on controller circuit board for indoor unit.
• Wire between indoor units in same group not connected.
• Slim series model connected to same group.
• The system controller and grouping do not match.
• The power for the indoor unit (master) is not on.
• Fuse burnt out on controller circuit board for indoor unit (master).
The indoor/outdoor unit starts normally but does power is not supplied to the
remote controller all the way to the end.
• The power to the indoor unit has not been turned on.
• The remote controller cable has shorted or is broken.
• The power supply cable or transmission cable has a short or is broken.
• The MA remote controller is connected to the indoor/outdoor unit transmission
cable.
• The permissible number of remote controllers connected (2 units) has been
exceeded or the permissible number of indoor units has been exceeded.
• Fuse burnt out on controller circuit board for indoor unit.
• The address for the indoor unit is "00" and the address for the outdoor unit is
other than "00".
• The transmission cable for the indoor/ outdoor units is connected to TB7.
• The power for the power supply expansion unit for the transmission wire is not
on.
• The MA remote controller is connected to the indoor/outdoor unit transmission
cable.
• Operating according to the MA remote controller main selection switch.
• The indoor/outdoor transmission cable has a short, broken wire or bad con-
nection.
• The indoor/outdoor transmission cable for the indoor/ outdoor units is con-
nected to TB7.
• The power for the indoor unit (master) is not on.
• Fuse burnt out on controller circuit board for indoor unit (master).

Inspection method and solution
• Check the following as possible causes of
the error.
• Entire system
• Within entire refrigerant system
• Within same group only
• Only one indoor unit
(a) If entire system and within entire refrig-
erant system
• Check the self-diagnosis LEDs on the
outdoor unit.
• Check those items shown to the left
that are related to the outdoor unit.
(b) If within same group only and only one
indoor unit
• Check those items shown to the left
that are related to the indoor unit.
