3.3 Build in battery
1. Open the battery cover (5) located behind the device.
2. Take the battery connector and plug it to the battery.
3. Close the battery cover introducing first the left side of the cover.
3.4 Operating knob and indicator light
The device incorporates a single knob (1) to turn on, off, and regulate volume. The indicator light (2)
shows whether the device is working.
POWER ON
When the device is off, turn the knob (1) clockwise to activate it. The indicator will light up.
POWER OFF
When the device is on, turn the knob (1) to the left to deactivate it. The indicator light will turn off.
VOLUME ADJUSTMENT
To raise the volume, turn the knob (1) clockwise. To decrease the volume, turn the knob (1) to the left.
AUDIO OUTPUT
In the audio sockets, only connect a recorder that complies with the rules of IEC 60601-1
3.5 Preparation
Please follow these guidelines before using the product:
- Turn on the device using the on/off knob.
- Apply coupling gel on the probe faceplate or abdomen.
- Move the transducer slowly over the lower part of the abdomen.
3.6 Operation
Locate the fetus position manually to find out the best direction to the fetal heart. Place the probe
faceplate at the best position for detecting the fetal heartbeat ensuring the faceplate is in full contact
with the skin. Move the transducer until you get the best audio signal. The fetal heart is usually at 1/3
below the navel line in its earliest stage. As the gestational period increases, it moves upward with a
slight deviation to the right or left depending on the fetus. In case of coupling gel absence, you can
use water.
