Cooling pipes or components should be installed in a place where there is a low likelihood
of their coming into contact with any substance which can cause corrosion of components
containing refrigerant, unless these components are made of materials inherently resistant to
corrosion, or adequately protected against corrosion.
9. Electrical-equipment inspections
Repairs and maintenance of the electric components include preliminary safety inspections and
component-control procedures. In the instance of a fault which could risk safety, do not connect
the power supply to the circuit until it has been satisfactorily rectified. If the fault cannot be
rectified immediately, but further action is necessary, an appropriate temporary solution must be
implemented. This should be reported to the device owner so that all parties are informed.
Preliminary safety inspections include
-
condenser discharge: should be done in a safe way to avoid the possibility of sparking;
-
no covering of live electrical components or wiring when charging, recovering, or cleaning the
system;
-
earthing continuity
