WARNING
In order to avoid personal injury and the risk of fire and electric shock, disconnect the power supply
before adjusting, inspecting, or cleaning the chain saw.
CLEANING
• Disconnect the power supply.
• Wipe off the housing and the plastic components using a moist, soft cloth. Do not use strong
solvents or detergents on the plastic housing or plastic components. Certain household cleaners
may cause damage, and may cause a shock hazard.
• Clean oil outlet with a clean cloth.
• If the chain saw is to be stored for a longer period of time, clean chain and chain bar.
• DO NOT place other objects on the chain saw.
• To prevent oil leakage, ensure machine is left in a horizontal position.
REPLACING THE SAW CHAIN AND GUIDE BAR
WARNING
Only use replacement bar/chain in the specifications. DO NOT use any other bar/chain combination
When handling saw chains, always wear protective gloves.
Replace chain when cutters are too worn to sharpen or when chain breaks. Only use replacement
chain noted in this manual. Always include new sharpening stone when replacing chain. This will
maintain proper cutting speed of the chain.
1. Place the chain saw body on a firm and level surface.
2. Loosen the cover release knob to release the chain sprocket cover. Remove the chain sprocket cover.
3. Wearing protective gloves, take off the broken saw chain or the guide bar.
4. Wrap the new saw chain around the new guide bar, making sure that the teeth are aimed in the
direction of rotation. The chain should be properly set in the slot running along the entire outside
edge of the chain bar.
5. Place chain around drive sprocket so it fits in between the drive sprocket teeth.
6. Insert the guide bar and chain into the mount on the chain saw.
7.Turn the guide wheel to adjust the chain tension following the arrow of the guide wheel.
8. Tighten the cover release knob to secure the chain sprocket cover.
NOTE: The slot of the chain saw needs to be aligned with the tab on the chain sprocket cover.
9. Turn the saw chain counterclockwise to make sure it can be moved smoothly to prevent the saw
chain from being pinched by the cover release knob.
10. For further use, adjust the chain tension according to the chapter "ADJUST THE CHAIN
