Preassembly

- Tension the spring and pull out spring retainer (3).
NOTE:
Use of a pressing tool is recommended to tension the spring (Figure A).
- Take off washer (4) and spring (5).
- Clean the thread to avoid damaging it when removing the retaining ring
and adjusting ring.
- Remove retaining ring (1) and adjusting ring (2).
- Clean the thread again thoroughly.
Assembly
- Position preload adjuster (6).
NOTE:
The preload adjuster must be mounted with the collar (7) facing down.
- Using screw (8), turn the preload adjuster all the way up until the bar (9)
contacts position (10) of the compensating tank without clamping it.
NOTE:
Use of a battery-powered drill is recommended to turn the preload adjuster.
- Mount the spring.
- Align the fixing points of the shock absorber.
NOTE:
Ensure that the rebound adjuster (11) is opposite to the compression adjus-
ter (12).
- Adjust the spring preload to the value measured at the beginning of this
procedure. For the standard setting, refer to the Owner's Manual for the
vehicle.
