Changing the batteries
Change the batteries outside of the patient environment (at least 1.5 metres from the patient or
patient support pursuant to IEC 60601-1, see Fig. 2).
Please let the device cool down before changing the battery.

Unscrew the head piece (3) and shake out the batteries. Insert new batteries with the plus contact
facing the handle head (Fig. 3).
Then screw the head piece back on.

Service
The device has no components serviceable by the end-user.
The LED cannot be changed on this instrument.
General Notes
The warranty for the entire product is invalidated if non-genuine HEINE products or non-original
parts are used and if repairs or modifications are made to the device by persons not authorized
by HEINE. For more information, please visit www.heine.com.
The expected life cycle, when the device is normal used and the warning and safety information
as well as the maintenance instructions are observed, is up to 7 years. Beyond this period, the
product may continue to be used if it is in a safe and good condition.
Store and use the device only in a dry and dust-free environment.
Let the device accommodate to ambient conditions when it is cold.
General Warnings
Check the correct operation of the device before use! Do not use the device if there is a failure
of the illumination, the switch isn't moveable or if there are visible signs of damage.
Check that the lamp lights up after inserting the batteries. If there is failure of the illumination,
turn the device off and check if the batteries have been inserted correctly.
Do not use the device in presence of flammable gases / liquids, or in an oxygen rich environment.
Do only use the batteries specified by HEINE.
In order to ensure a secure electrical connection, use only batteries from renowned
manufacturers.
Use only original HEINE parts, spare parts, accessories and power sources.
This product is not allowed to enter or be used in areas with strong magnetic fields e.g. MRI
scanners.
Repairs shall only be carried out by qualified persons.
Do not modify the device.
Do not insert empty cells into the device.
