1. Prepare the Site
Rough-in the Plumbing
NOTICE: For exterior wall installations, ensure proper wall
insulation to prevent frozen pipes.
Attach a 2x4 brace between two studs to support the supply lines.
The brace should be positioned so the face of the 1/2-14 NPT
supply elbows will be recessed 1/8" (3 mm) to 1/2" (1.3 cm)
within the finished wall.
NOTICE: Tile or stone covered walls may require an extension of
the supply line.
Position the supply lines 5-7/8" (14.9 cm) between the centerlines,
then attach a brass elbow to each supply line.
Verify the elbows are level with one another and the opened end
faces are recessed 1/8" (3 mm) to 1/2" (1.3 cm) behind the
planned finished wall surface.
Secure the elbows and supply lines to the 2x4.
Apply sealant tape to each pipe nipple.
