In any case, consult your responsible Master Chimney Sweep. He
is able to assess the house's entire ventilation setup and will
suggest the suitable ventilation measures to you.
Unrestricted operation is possible if the vapour extractor hood is
operated exclusively in the circulating-air mode.
Risk of injury!
Components inside the appliance may have sharp edges. Wear
protective gloves.
Risk of electric shock!
Components inside the appliance may have sharp edges. These
may damage the connecting cable. Do not kink or pinch the
connecting cable during installation.
Risk of electric shock!
Penetrating moisture may cause electric shock. Ensure that the
plug connections for the electric cable are located within the
building.
Risk of electric shock!
Penetrating moisture may cause electric shock. Ensure that the
mounting plate is sealed onto the outside wall using suitable
material.
Danger of suffocation!
Packaging material is dangerous to children. Never allow children
to play with packaging material.

General information

Exhaust duct
Note: The device manufacturer does not assume any warranty for
complaints attributable to the pipe section.
The device achieves its optimum performance by means of a
short, straight exhaust air pipe and as large a pipe diameter as
possible.
As a result of long rough exhaust air pipes, many pipe bends or
pipe diameters that are smaller than 150 mm, the optimum
extraction performance is not achieved and fan noise is
increased.
The pipes or hoses for laying the exhaust air line must consist of
non-combustible material.
Round pipes
An inner diameter of 150 mm, but at least 120 mm, is
recommended.
Flat ducts
The inner cross-section must correspond to the diameter of the
round pipes.
dia. 150 mm ca. 177 cm

dia. 120 mm ca. 113 cm

Flat ducts should not have any sharp deflections.
Use sealing strips for deviating pipe diameters.
Electrical connection
: Risk of electric shock!
Components inside the appliance may have sharp edges. These
may damage the connecting cable. Do not kink or pinch the
connecting cable during installation.
The required connection information is on the appliance's
identification plate.
This appliance complies with the EC interference suppression
regulations.
This appliance may be connected to a correctly installed earthed
socket only.
Fit the earthed socket in close proximity to the appliance.
The earthed socket should be connected via its own circuit.
If the earthed socket is no longer accessible after installing the
appliance, an all-pole isolating switch (e.g. circuit breaker, fuses
and contactors) with at least a 3-mm contact gap must be
included in the installation.

Installation preparation

Caution!
Ensure that there are no electric wires, gas or water pipes in the
area where holes are to be made.
Checking the wall
The wall must be level, vertical and adequately load-bearing.
The depth of the boreholes must be the same length as the
screws. The wall plugs must have a secure grip.
Suitable fasteners must be used for other structures, such as
plasterboard, porous concrete, and poroton bricks.
The max. weight of the appliance is 7 kg.
Only specialist personnel must create the required wall
breakthrough. The building support structure must remain in
place.
Risk of damaged caused by returning condensate. Install the
wall breakthrough with a slight outward gradient (1° downward
slope).

Exhaust connection

Connection piece, 200 mm diameter, enclosed
AD 702 042: Pipe adapter for connecting pipes from dia.
200 mm to dia. 150/125 mm. To adapt to a diameter of 150 or
125 mm, saw off the diameter that is not required.
(Optional accessory, please order separately)
AD 702 052: Telescopic wall outlet, dia. 200 mm, with integrated
back-flow flap
(Optional accessory, please order separately)
AD 854 047: Air collector for two flat ducts
(Optional accessory, please order separately)
AD 704 047: Air collector for two round pipes, dia. 150 mm
(Optional accessory, please order separately)
AD 704 048: Air collector for two round pipes, 150 mm diameter
(Optional accessory, please order separately)
Fitting the appliance on the outside wall
Caution!
Ensure that there are no electric wires, gas or water pipes in the
area where holes are to be made.
Create the wall breakthrough with a diameter of at least 210 mm.
1.
Insert the telescopic wall outlet AD 702 042 (optional accessory,
2.
please order separately) into the wall breakthrough and secure
and seal using construction foam or construction adhesive.
Note: Install the wall outlet with an outward gradient of 1° to allow
for condensate drainage.
Drill 8 mm mounting holes and the cable passage with a diameter
3.
of at least 20 mm into the outside wall. (Fig. 1)
Press in the wall plugs flush with the wall.
4.
5.
Seal the mounting plate appropriately against the outside wall
and tighten it. (Fig. 2)
Guide the mains cable and the control cable through the wall.
6.
(Fig. 3)
Screw the fan module onto the mounting plate.
7.
Secure the exhaust air pipe into the wall outlet. If an aluminium
8.
pipe is used, smooth the connection area beforehand
Note: When combined with gas-fired appliances, use aluminium
pipes. Do not use any plastic pipes. Due to the higher extracted
air temperature, plastic pipes may become deformed.
Screw the inner control unit to the wall.
9.
Connecting the appliance to the power supply
Fit the plug onto the mains cable. Secure the blue wire in
1.
connection N, the brown wire in connection L and the green/
yellow wire in the central connection. Fit the connector parts.
Tighten two screws for the strain relief. (Fig. 4)
Firmly insert the mains cable and control cable from the fan
2.
module into the control unit. (Fig. 5)
Firmly insert the network cable from the control unit to the
3.
extractor hood. The plug must snap into place.
Note: The connection sockets X1 and X2 are identical.
Connect the control unit to the mains and check that it works
4.
correctly. If the appliance does not work: Check that the
connection cable is positioned correctly.

Additional switching output

Work must only be carried out on the additional switching output
by a qualified electrician in accordance with the country-specific
requirements and standards.
The appliance has an additional switching output X16 (potential-
free contact) that can be used to connect other appliances, such
as a ventilation system that is available at the installation site. The
contact is closed when the fan is switched on, and is opened when
the fan is switched off.
