8. Insert the connection tube ( Fig. 11/9) into the head plate
(3).
9. Screw the gas ballast ( Fig. 11/8) into the corresponding
head plate (3), so that the surface faces upward.
Fitting the pump head
1. Press on the entire perimeter of the diaphragm (6). Only
press on the membrane (6) on one pump head.
2. Place the intermediate plate (5) with the valve plates/seals
(4) onto the mounting fixture, using the marker pen mark-
ing for alignment.
3. Place the head plate (3) onto the intermediate plate (5),
aligning it with the aligning pin.
4. Place the pressure plate (2) onto the head plate, using the
marker pen marking for alignment.
5. Tighten the screws, working to a cross pattern (tightening
torque: N820: 4 Nm; N840: 5 Nm).
6. Tighten the screw (1) in the center of the printing plates
(tightening torque: 1 Nm).
7. Perform steps 1 to 7 for the second pump head.
8. Use the tool supplied to screw in the hose connections
( Fig. 11/10) hand-tight.
