The chute baffle fits between the blade and the toe bar
(Fig. 6).

6. Determine the correct position for your chute baffle
using the configuration of the underside of the deck.
7. Insert the front corner of the chute baffle into the deck
opening. Rotate the chute counterclockwise and push
down into the deck opening, making sure that the
chute baffle fits as specified.
8. Insert the chute support rod through the hole in the
right side of the deck/handle bracket (Fig. 7).

Note: You do not need to loosen or remove the 2
shoulder bolts on the housing that protrude through the
slotted holes in the chute assembly. The chute
assembly moves over the shoulder bolt heads.
9. Slide the chute assembly clockwise.
10. Secure the chute assembly with the wing screw
(Fig. 7).
11. To ensure proper installation of the chute, rotate the
blade a few revolutions by pulling slowly on the starter
cord, or look under the deck to see if the blade
contacts the chute baffle.

POTENTIAL HAZARD
Installing a non-Lawn-Boy replacement blade
could strike and damage the chute baffle while
starting or operating the engine.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
The blade could come in contact with the chute
baffle and cause damage, resulting in an unsafe
operating condition.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Use only a Lawn-Boy replacement blade.
12. Remove the knob and the bolt that secure the upper
and lower left side handle sections (Fig. 8).

13. Hold the hanger clamp on the outside of the handle
sections and insert the handle bolt from the inside of
the handle sections through the holes in the hanger
clamp.
14. Position the bag hanger leg into the hanger clamp
groove and secure it with the knob.
15. Repeat the steps 12 through 14 to assemble the clamp
and the hanger to the right side handle sections.
16. Close the rear of the bag by folding the sides in and
pressing the interlocking rear handle halves together
(Fig. 9).
