O INSTALL THE AIR CONDITIONER IN THE
WINDOW
• Carefullyliftthe air conditioner a nd slideit intothe open
window.Make sure the bottomguideof the air
conditionerdropsintothe notchesof the L brackets.
• When the air conditionerdropsintothe L brackets,the
air conditioner w ill be centeredin windowopeningas
shownin FIG. 7.
• While steadyingthe air conditioner, carefullybringthe
windowsashdown behindthe upperguideof the air
conditioner, a s shownin FIG. 8.

Extendthe guidepanels(ITEM F) to fillthe window
openingusing4 screws(ITEM B) to securethem, as
shownin FIG. 9.
[_J INSTALL THE FOAM SEAL AND SASH LOCK
• Cut the foam seal (ITEM E) to the windowwidth.
Stuffthe foam seal between the glassand the windowto
prevent air and insectsfromgettingintothe room,as
shownin FIG. 9.
• Fastenthe remainingL bracketon eitherside of the
windowusingscrew (ITEM A). See FIG. 9 inset.
Installing thisbracketpreventswindowfrom being raised
whichmay resultin unitfalling.
• Removethe screws thatsecure the cabinetand base
pan in the rightside.
• Attachthe supportbracket(ITEM H) in the innerwindow
sill with a screw (ITEM B), as shownFig. 10.

WINDOW FRAME
• If storm windowpresents interference, f astena 2" wide
woodstdp to the inner window sillacross the full width of
the sill. The wood stripshould be thick enough to raise
the height of the window sill so that the unit can be
installedwithout interference from the the storm window
frame. See FIG. t 1.
Top of wood stdpshould be approximately 3/4" higher
than the storm window frame to help condensation to
drain propedy to the outside.
• Install a second wood stdp (approximately 6" long by
11/2" wide and same thickness as firststdp)in the center
of the outer sill flush againstthe beck ofthe inner sill.
Screw the L brackets intothis stdp.
Thiswill raisethe L bracket as shownin FIG. 11.

Turn the air conditioner o ff, and disconnect t he bower
cord. Remove the L bracketandthe screws installed
throughthe top and bottom of the guidepanels,and save
for reinstallation later. Closethe guidepanels.Keepinga
firm gdp_n the air conditioner,raisethe sash,and
carefullytilt the air conditioner b ackward,drainingany
condensatewater. Liftthe air conditioner fromthe window
and removethe foam seal from between the windows.
