NOTE: THIS PRODUCT IS NOT RECOMMENDED
FOR USEON A 1/2 TON VEHICLE.
1.
Place two 1/2" carriage bolts with the large bolt plates through the two rear holes on each side of the frame.
2.
Lift the hitch up to the frame, with the bolt going down through the rear holes in the brackets. Install 1/2" flat washers, lock washers and nuts on the bolts. See the diagram above.
3.
Install 1/2" carriage bolts with the small bolt plates down through the front mounting locations. Be sure the bolt plates are turned sideways as shown on the diagram on the other side. Be sure the
plates are laying down flat on the bottom of the frame.
4.
Install 1/2" serrated washers, lock washers, and nuts on the bolts as shown on the other side.
5.
Tighten all 1/2-13 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M)
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or
ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
