General notes on safety:
This operation manual is applicable for the machines UGER 15/30 SI
and UGER 15/60 SI. This machines may only be handled by personnel
who are qualified according to EN 60204-1.
Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces when performing
an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or
its own cord. Contact with a "live" wire will make exposed metal
parts of the tool "live" and shock the operator.
It is imperative that the notes on safety attached separately
here to be observed!
Use the machine for purposes for which it is intended:
UGER 15/30 SI:
The machine is intended for the cleaning, grinding and polishing
of metal with cleaning an non-wowen brushes an polishing rings
without the use of water. The machine is designed exclusively for
a 2-hand application
UGER 15/60 SI:
The machine is destined for the grinding and polishing of metal
with flap wheels, plastic non-wowen brushes and abrasive belts
without the use of water. The machine is destined for grinding with
the PFERD belt grinder BSV (on request). The machine is designed
exclusively for a 2-hand application.
Incorrect use:
All uses other than those described are regarded as incorrect use
and are therefore not admissible.
Prior to taking the machine into service:
Before connecting tool to a power source, be sure the voltage sup-
plied is the same as specified on the name plate of the tool. The
power supply should not vary more than 10% above or below the
voltage indicated on the nameplate.
• C heck grinding tool prior to use.
• T he grinding tool must be mounted centrally and pos.against the
limit stop.
• T he maximal allowable speed of the tool and of the chuck may
not be exceeded under any circumstances.
• O bserve national regulations.
• F it safety guard.
Do not use accessories which are not specifically designed
and recommended by the tool manufacturer. Just because the
accessory can be attached to your power tool, it does not assure
safe operation.
Taking the machine in service:

Turn on:
1) T he switch must be in the OFF position
2) T o turn the machine on, push the ON/OFF switch toward the front
untill it clicks in.

Turn off:
Press the ON/OFF switch to trigger the blocking and the machine
shuts down.
Operating conditions:
Temperature range during operation: -10 °C to +40 °C
Relative air humidity: 10 % to 95 % not condensed
Protective devices:
Protection of persons. Fit safety guard.
ON/OFF switch: Two-pole ON/OFF switch with turn-on inhibit and
locking.
Protection of the machine:
• Starting current limitation:
The electronically controlled soft starting provides for smooth
starting of the machine. Due to the low machine starting current
a 16 A fuse is adequate.
• T emperature-dependent overload protection:
For protection against overheating, when a critical temperature is
reached the electronic safety feature switches into the cooldown
mode. Then the machine continues to run at a speed of approx.
1100 RPM / UGER 15/30 SI and 2200 RPM / UGER 15/60 SI and
the electronic constant speed control is deactivated. After a cool-
down time of approx. 10-20 sec. the machine is again ready for
operation. Turn the machine off and back on again to activate the
electronic constant speed control. When the tool is at operating
temperature the temperatur-dependent overload protection reacts
at a correspindingly earlier.
• U ndervoltage/restarting protection:
O n short-time failure of the power voltage (plug disconnected,
instable power mains etc.) the machine will stop. When the power
voltage recovers, the machine must be turned OFF and back ON
again. The machine is then ready for operation.
Rotation of gearbox head:
The gearbox head can be rotated relative to the stator housing in steps
of 90° which enables the turn-ON/turn-OFF switch to be brought info
a more convenient manipulation position for special work situations.
Completely unscrew the four screws.
Carefully and without removing the housing rotate the tool head into
a new position. Screw in the screws and tighten down.
