The R-080090 is a simple, easy to handle glass ball steriliser particularly suitable for use with
small surgical instruments (files, tweezers, mirrors, etc.). For correct use, follow the instructions below:
• Plug the unit into a 220 V, 50/60 Hz, earthed power outlet.
• Fill the bowl (B) with glass balls to no more than ¾ full.
• Close the cover (A).
• Switch on at (D). The red lamp built into the switch will come on to indicate that the heating element is
running.
• After approximately 10 minutes the green lamp (C) will come on, indicating that the unit has reached
its operating temperature (220-260 ºC).
• From then on the heating element will switch itself on and off automatically via a thermal relay to
maintain a constant temperature in the bowl.
• Place the surgical instruments in the bowl so that the glass balls cover the area to be sterilised.
• Sterilisation time varies according to the shape of the instrument. Guidelines are given at the following
section.
• Then carefully remove the sterilised instrument from the bowl: metal instruments are good heat
conductors, so the handle might have become very hot during sterilisation.
• The green lamp (C) remains on while the unit is operating at its optimum temperature, indicating that
proper sterilisation is guaranteed. When the main switch (D) is switched off the green lamp may
remain on for a few moments until the unit drops below its minimum operating temperature.
CLEANING & STERILISATION
• Clean the outside of the unit with a cloth moistened in soapy water.
• Do not clean the unit with alcohol, solvents or other inflammable products.
• Never submerge the unit in any liquid.
• After cleaning, to not plug the unit in until it is completely dry.

PRECAUTIONS
♦ Ensure that the power supply is as required (220 V, 50/60 Hz earthed)
♦ Do not use the unit in very wet areas or near inflammable materials (alcohol, solvents, etc.)
♦ Do not place plastic objects or others which may melt at low temperatures in the bowl.
♦ Always keep the cover closed when the unit is sterilising an instrument.
♦ After disconnecting the unit, wait at least 30 minutes before touching the owl and glass balls: the fact
that the green lamp is off does not necessarily mean that the unit is at room temperature.
